The first thing Phillip wants anyone to know about him is that he is a follower of Jesus Christ who by His great Grace saved him from his sins. In September 2018 Phillip joined the Pastoral team here at Elkton Baptist Church and God has given him a passion for teaching God’s word to the students of the Community. He is happily married to the love of his life, Mary Beth Davis, who is both his partner in life and in ministry. He is passionate about coffee, powerlifting, and the game of chess, each of which he enjoys sharing with others.

Phillip believes that student ministry is a special time of preparation in the life of young believers where they learn the essential teachings of the Christian faith and how to live them out in their daily lives. We as believers are called to make disciples of Christ and teach them His commands as we find them in Scripture. As the student Pastor of Elkton Baptist, his aim is to teach our students the Biblical foundations necessary for our Christian life and partner with them as they discover God’s call on their lives. Phillip holds a BA in Biblical and Theological Studies from Truett McConnell University and is currently studying with New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary in pursuit of an MDiv with an emphasis on Apologetics.
