The Journey

THE JOURNEY

SUNDAYS AT 6:00 P.M.

The Journey is a series of small-group Bible studies designed for personal spiritual growth and discipleship.  These classes are offered in 12-week sessions in the Spring and Fall semesters.  You can register for any of these sessions online. There are Men’s and Women’s fellowship groups that meet in the Winter months of December and January, also in the Summer months of June, July and August.

The Spring Semester of the Journey will begin on

February 14th, 2010. The following classes will be offered:

altFAITH Outreach Evangelism

F.A.I.T.H. is EBC’s local evangelism and outreach effort that is consistent with the church’s Acts 1:8 strategy – “But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”  FAITH equips every believer to share the gospel in a powerful and organized way.  Three member teams then  go out immediately after class and put their training into action.  There will also be FAITH 2 for leader training.

altOne Month to Live

What if you only had one month to live. What changes would you make in your life? With eye-opening insights and soul-inspiring truths, One Month to Live challenges readers to embrace the life God has entrusted to them and to live it out moment by moment with wholehearted authenticity, honesty and integrity.  Each of One Month to Live's 30 chapters  - one for every day in a life-changing month  - offers fresh strategies for overcoming habits that mire Christians in mediocrity.

The Parent Adventure (begins March 28)

alt

Informed by research that reveals destructive parenting patterns are being handed down through most American families (including Christian house-holds), The Parent Adventure looks to the church to help break this cycle and teach moms and dads how to prepare their kids for a lifetime with God.

The problem starts when parents raise children based on their personal experiences growing up instead of using the Bible as the timeless, authoritative guide. Although seemingly painful at first, the parental attitude of “letting go” must begin intentionally at birth, keeping in mind that each child’s life is more about knowing God than anything else. With this outlook established, the future-focused mom and dad will move more joyfully through each stage in the adventure of parenting as detailed in the book.

Knowing God has a lifelong plan for each family member, parents and kids will grow closer to each other just as sure as they will grow closer to God.

The Message of 3:16

A twenty-six-word  parade of hope: beginning with God, ending with life, and urging us to do the same. Brief enough to write on a napkin or memorize in a moment, yet solid enough to weather two thousand years of storms and questions.

altFeast

This 6-week course focuses on the major feasts of the Jewish calendar and the celebratory design of God’s plan. Integrating Jewish and Christian perspectives, this study addresses the present-day church culture that is driven by work and less on celebration.
